Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Plasma membrane. Illustration of the structure of the plasma membrane that encloses cells. The exterior of the cell is at top, and the interior at bottom. The membrane is a bilayer of phospholipids (blue). Embedded in the membrane are proteins (green). These can be transmembrane proteins (left) or peripheral surface proteins. Chemicals found in the membrane include cholesterol (pink rods). Attached to the outer surface proteins are molecular chains (pink) such as carbohydrates (centre left and upper right) and glycolipids (far right). For this artwork with labels, see image C023/8731.
